Boot scootin'

Check out what Anna's been up to lately.  Looks like it's time to move everything up a couple feet and never let her out of our sight.  She's quick.

On a similar note, today I went in to get Anna out from her crib and found this:
Sitting up! How did that happen?!? When did she learn to sit up?!?

We're loving seeing her hit these milestones but who told her she could grow up so fast?

Life lately...

March and April have been pretty good months at the Nelson house.

In March, we were lucky enough to not only have the week of spring break off but almost the whole week before too!  We took advantage of the time off and spent it with our families in Utah.

We celebrated some birthdays.  Anna's aunt Jandee, great-aunt Lydia, cousin Elliott and great-grandma Sullivan all had birthdays.  We unfortunately didn't make it to Elliott's party but were able to celebrate with the rest.

Anna did some swinging and loved it.

We spent some time outside enjoying the grass.  Anna didn't seem to mind it at all

Anna found out that Great-Grandpa Knusden's beard was indeed the real deal.

We got all fancied up and went to church.

Anna mastered the art of muli-tasking watching tv and playing with toys.

We spent time feeding the birds at the Crazy Duck Pond.

Grandpa Bruce taught us how to skip a rock.

We had an Easter egg hunt at the farm.

Anna supervised mostly.

Then we went back and counted up our loot.

The Easter bunny was good to us this year.

Anna and Nico are plotting on how to do better next year but were happy with what they got anyway.

\
Anna's aunt Colleen came up with an awesome treasure hunt.

It was in Grandma's car the whole time.

The prizes were pretty cool.

We made some chocolate moustaches.

Anna's aunts taught her everything they know about fashion.  (April Fools)

Anna got in some quality time with Jacee.

And Chris won the Sullivan family March Madness bracket!

Then we had to come home.

But then Grandma and Grandpa Young came to visit and we hung out at Grandma's favorite place in the whole world: Coronado!

She had some important phone calls to make.

We found a house with some crazy yard art.

Now life is back to just being cute and playing with toys,

showing off our physiques,

reading books,

admiring ourselves in the mirror,

being cute,

showing the world how cool we are,

and how much we love the Killers,

and learning that there's more to life than sleeping on your back.

My dear friend Melissa and her daughter Kaelyn came from Nebraska to visit San Diego and we had a great time hanging out.

Anna just wished Kaelyn didn't live so far.

Life is good, especially when you have a cute face like this and toy in the mouth.

Anna just a doctor's appointment, shots and all.  She's such a trooper even when they sneak attack her with needles.  Here are her stats:

Height: 27 inches (66th percentile)
Weight: 18 lbs 5 oz (69th percentile)
Head circumference: 18 inches (91st percentile)
{What can I say, this girl is gonna be a smartie with that noggin}

  • She's loves fruits but only once in a while will do well with veggies.  Don't even try with the peas and carrots unless you want to end up wearing it.
  • She has started to scoot a little bit.  She's getting more used to being on her tummy and is starting to realize she can get things out of her reach if she works a little for it.
  • She's starting to make some good da-da-da-da sounds.  The other day we thought she said "That on" in regards to her toy.  She has the cutest little voice.
  • She will take adult things over her toys any day ie phones, computers, keys, jewelery, remotes.  Her favorite things are the keys.  She lights up when she sees them in my hand.
  • She LOVES peekaboo.  You can get a reaction out of her with it pretty much any time.  It's such a fun stage.

She is the light of our lives and we love her more every day!
