So, just in case you haven't heard the news, we are expecting a little one on September 25th. We're SUPER excited. It's been a really neat experience to prepare for this new adventure in our lives. Earlier this month, we had our formal ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby and...
...she's a girl!!!
We were so anxious to find out and when we did, we couldn't have been more thrilled. We would have, of course, been excited either way but it was just nice to know. I think one of my favorite parts of knowing is to be able to call her "she/her" and not "it." The evening after we found out, I made the mistake to go to the Carters store in the outlet mall on my way home from work and I had to practice a LOT of self-restraint to not buy the whole girls section. All the clothes were so adorable.
Back to the ultrasound, it was really cool to actually see our little girl. Technology is amazing. We were able to see the ventricles of her heart, her kidneys and all kinds of stuff. Our ultrasound tech, Carla, was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and explained exactly what we were seeing. According to her, our little girl was quite the acrobat.
In this picture that she took, you can see baby Nelson had her feet over her head and she was doing somersaults the whole time.
Here she is apparently kicking herself in the head.
One of my favorite things about being pregnant is feeling her move around. She gets really moving sometimes and it is the coolest feeling. I'm told by many to enjoy this early stage of movement because before too long, I'll be getting swift kicks to my ribs.
One thing I'm not getting used to is this expanding belly of mine.
For all those who've requested it, here's the baby bump. I took this picture just this past week so this is pretty recent.
I'm so excited for you guys! I love your little baby bump. It's so cute!
ReplyDeleteLove it! What a cute little prego lady you make. It is a fun adventure isn't it?! And it only gets better when they are here in your arms (well, better and worse, but definitely worth every minute of the worse to enjoy the better!) I do wish you lived closer to me but I am glad you are posting to this blog so I can follow along and will get to see pictures of your cute little one *soon*! oh and thanks for the birthday wishes!!
